South Carolina is rapidly evolving


As part of its efforts to support and strengthen an innovative, technology-based and entrepreneurial business environment, the Department of Commerce launched the state's first Office of Innovation in the fall of 2013. Since that time, the office has successfully empowered 24 entrepreneurship programs, resulting in approximately 500 new jobs. It has also educated more than 6,000 South Carolinians in technology curriculum.
The imagination of a digital platform for the state’s innovation marketplace is just one of several initiatives coming from the Office of Innovation in 2018.
